Friday Calling

P R E F A C E

'Fri-Calls' is an abbreviation for ' Friday Callings ' which were my weekly e-mail messages sent every Friday morning to about fifty close friends and relatives, from Sept 2003 to Sept 2004, some forty in all. The earlier ones had a format comprising of three parts: (i) a brief note on a specific topic, (ii) a poem from my book 'Random Musings' (iii) some musings either on a particular theme, or as in later ones just miscellaneous, from my books 'Pearls of Wisdom' and 'Random Musings'. Some of the later Fri-Calls entirely dealt exclusively with specific topics, some of which even spilled over into one or more Fri-Calls. There was a wide diversity in topics, many of them being general, but others included subjects like Advaitha philosophy, topics from Geetha, Hindu traditions, and even those like 'Memory Aids' and 'Inter-personal Relationships' etc. If the Fri-Calls turned out to be informative and interesting, and be so for readers even now, their purpose would have been served.
